Addition

Our latest Maths unit is focusing exploring ways to solve simple addition problems using a range of efficient mental and written strategies.  We are investigating using known facts, ten facts, counting on, using materials (like MAB) and how the order of the addends doesn’t change the total.

Teach someone at home how to play “Flipper” – you need a deck of cards with the kings, queens & jacks removed.

You could also explain to mum or dad what we did with the yellow pages.  I wonder what your phone number is worth.  The digits in mine add up to 32.
